Second Story is up!

Wow, the framing is really going up fast. There were even stairs that we could walk up (that's Morgan's room Ed is in). The kids were excited to see their rooms being worked on. Wonder what's coming next!

Big Boy Morgan

Time for class pictures! Wish I knew how they got him to smile for the camera : ) We have decided to have Morgan attend Olive Tree again next school year and start Kindergarten at Becker the following year which will be two blocks from the new house. He will have the same great teachers next year, Ms. Lynn and Ms. Kellie, as well as half of the same classmates. Dean will also be starting a part-time program in the fall, but at a different school. Wish they could overlap, but Olive Tree doesn't offer part-time, so Dean will start there in fall of 2014.

Lakeway Resort

Ed treated the family to a 1-day escape to Lakeway Resort & Spa. While it was only 40 minutes away in the hill country, it felt like a relaxing escape and had a great kiddie pool with slide, sprinklers and a waterfall. We had great pool weather and the kids had an awesome time. Morgan went down the slide twice (with Dad) but after going underwater the second time, he wasn't willing to try it again. Dean climbed up the stairs to the top of the slide but backed out once there. He was even hesitant of the pool at first, but by the end of the trip, he was brave enough to float past where he was able to stand (with floaties). Besides the pool, other highlights included running down the hallways, riding a golf cart, pressing the elevator button and attending a kiddie club so mommy and daddy could have a nice dinner. Water levels were extremely low on the lake but the sunset over the water was still a pretty sight. We would definitely go back again if we felt like we needed a little escape. Thanks Ed!

Olive Tree Art Show Fundraiser

This past weekend was an Art Show Fundraiser for Morgan's school. All the kids had art work featured and Morgan was proud to show us his -- an F1 race track with different colored race cars. There was also a live auction in which a large basket of art supplies was up for bidding. Morgan kept hovering over it and saying he wanted it. When I asked him what it was he saw in the basket that he wanted so much, he replied "I just want to basket." : ) He had fun raising his hand many times during the auction and we ended up being the top bidder. Lots of art supplies for future craft projects now!

Let the Frames Begin!

With the foundation done, we are excited to see the framing popping up fast. They completed the first floor in a single day, crazy! Over the weekend, we walked through it and can't wait to have it move-in ready. Still can't believe we are doing this, aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Springtime in Austin

Been meaning to post some recent pictures of boys from random times this spring... stumbling upon bluebonnets/Texas flora, running through the splash pad, Dean and Ed playing guitar (Ed has borrowed one from a friend and is trying to learn) and loading up on 18 balls (the favor for Morgan's birthday party) where Dean hugged them and declared "This is amazing!"

Foundation Complete!

Foundation was poured on Friday May 3rd, much to the enjoyment of the boys. We were tipped off so we knew when to be there, watching cement truck after cement truck fill the chute. The builder said we're on schedule for a September completion, so we're happy with that, as it's a month earlier than we expected! We're not holding our breath though, we'll see how the weather goes...

Cinco de Morgan

Happy 5th Birthday to my big boy! Morgan had a party at the Hoppin' House this past Saturday to celebrate with classmates and friends. I guess he's officially at that age where he's not cooperating when a camera is pointed at him but we were able to get a few. He was all smiles as he climbed, jumped, ate homemade cupcakes topped with turtles (his favorite animal), then burning it off with more bouncing. Thanks to everyone who came and for those who sent gifts. He had a blast and we have lots of new fun things to play with now!
