Happy Birthday Morgan

Morgan's birthday seems like it's never-ending this year! The night before, he chose his birthday attire for the special occasion: the hawaiian shirt and short ensemble we had gotten him from our trip to Hawaii. Festive indeed. On his actual birthday (a Wednesday), Ed and I delivered ninja cupcakes to his school and stayed for lunch there. His very first loose tooth threatened to fall out, but stayed in tact all day. He had said if he lost his tooth, it would be like a birthday present to himself : ) After school, the boys had their tennis lesson and then came home to find presents from all the grandparents - thank you!!! Morgan loved his gifts and has been playing with all of them the past few days -- even the Subtraction workbook has gotten a workout! Thank you everyone for making his day special.

Morgan's 7th Birthday at Horseshoe Bay

A couple of months ago, we asked Morgan if he would rather have a big party for his upcoming birthday or invite 2 close friends and their families to Horseshoe Bay for the weekend. He decisively selected Horseshoe Bay and chose Savannah and Bodhi as his guests. Luckily we liked their families, so the trip was a go : ) This past weekend the trip was finally upon us and these kids enjoyed every minute. We left right after school on Friday and everyone quickly changed into swimsuits to take full advantage of the daylight hours at the beach & pool. The weather and water temps couldn't have been better and we later enjoyed a cookout on the lakefront deck after everyone had arrived. All kids but 3 yr old Avery had a giant sleepover in the basement which was set up with 2 bunk beds and a pullout couch. Our days composed of lots of eating, pool time, arcade, more eating, tooling around the resort, swimming in the lake, canoeing in the lake, and then more eating. Oh, we did manage to watch the Kentucky Derby somewhere in there where everyone drew a horse's name out of a hat and Savannah got the winning horse. By the second night, the kids passed out pretty quickly and the adults stayed up chatting. Ed & Matty caught the Pacquiao fight after befriending the neighbors who invited them over to watch. Sunday was more pool, hot tub and beach time before everyone had to part ways and return to reality. Morgan cried after everyone left, not wanting it to end. It really was a great weekend and everyone had a fun time. Happy birthday to our big 7 year old boy -- glad you had fun!
