Horseshoe Bay Resort

Ed played in a tennis tournament this past weekend for both singles and doubles hosted by the Horseshoe Bay Resort, about an hour out of Austin. We totally lucked out with weather -- 71 degrees in late July in Texas??? We'll take it! Although 72 hrs later it quickly climbed back to normal temps. Ed did well in singles, but was eliminated on the second day. For doubles, he and his partner Martin won at the 4.0 level - congrats guys! It was a lot of matches over the 3 days for Ed, so the meantime the kids and I enjoyed the amenities like the many pools, a beach on the bay, tropical birds, walks through the property including turtle spotting, games at the arcade and s'mores in the evening. Ed met up with us when he could, but the boys were definitely a handful and tired and cranky being out of their routine. The resort was great, I would definitely go back, but maybe we could take a babysitter next time so Ed and I could find some time to relax : ) They had a lot of other water activities that would be fun when the kids are older. After the whole weekend was over, Morgan and Dean said their favorite part was the golf cart ride to the beach : )
