Morgan turns 8!

Last weekend we celebrated Morgan's 8th birthday with a party at Mt. Playmore, the largest indoor play structure in Texas. Besides the pizza and cake times, we didn't see much of the kids as they were running around climbing and playing in the arcade. He had a blast and afterwards, we headed to see a Round Rock Express ball game. Needless to say the boys were pooped by the time we got home. We had to wait to open gifts the next morning so it kinda felt like Xmas all over again : ) Happy Birthday Morgan! Thanks to all the grandparents and friends for the gifts!

Morgan opening his present from Dean
Thanks Dean!
Morgan enjoyed every last bite of his cake. He was the last one in the room while
all the other kids were done and off playing.

Spring Snippets

Its been a busy Spring here in Austin... We briefly saw Ed's cousin Dane when came to town for a Bachelor weekend. It was good to catch up and eat some wings : )

I had a nice visit with Darren, Annie and Jonas for a weekend at the end of April while Ed stayed back with the kids. It was lovely to see them and spend lots of one on one time with Jonas (who is quite the master at flying the Millenium Falcon by the way). I got to be there for Annie's big haircut - it looked great! It was a big moment and I was glad to be there for it. We also enjoyed lots of good food and down time.

In other news, here was the snake I randomly saw one day walking to pick the boys up from school... first snake spotting in 5 years living here!

Also, the kid's school had a big Cinco de Mayo celebration where Morgan performed in 2 traditional dances. Way to go Morgan!

Prom (again)

So 21 years later, Ed took me to the Prom again! The kid's school hosted a fund raiser Prom that included a silent auction, 80's and 90's themed dance music, hair and attire. It was fun to kick back with all the other parents and Ed even got a glimpse of life as a tall person when he donned the 7" platform shoes one of the other dads brought. He didn't want to take them off! I like you just the way you are Ed : )

Monster Jam

I never thought I'd attend a Monster Truck event, but as a mother of 2 boys growing up in Texas, that's where I found myself a couple weeks ago... Ed and I surprised the boys with tickets when we found out Monster Jam was coming to town. The boys were not sure exactly what to expect, but were totally enthralled watching the trucks jump, race, do donuts and stunts. I hope these boys realize one day all we do for them!
