Balloons over Horseshoe Bay

This past weekend was the first annual Balloons over Horseshoe Bay, which featured over 20 hot air balloons in a resort community about 1 hour and 15 mins away. The event featured food, wine tasting and live music from Sixpence None the Richer (that 90s band who sang "Kiss Me" and "There She Goes"). At dusk, there was supposed to be a "glow" where all the balloons are ablaze and tethered on the runway (the event was at an airport) but unfortunately, high winds prohibited them from mounting the balloons so they did a burn instead. Dean was a little afraid of the fire, clinging to me and closing his eyes, but then he said he wanted to see it again so I guess he liked it. We were a little bummed to miss the balloons but it was otherwise fun. At the end of the night, the kids played with their glow stick necklaces while we waited in line for 45 minutes for our shuttle. It was a long day, but we plan to go again next year and hopefully the winds will be more cooperative (and there will be more shuttles now that they've worked out the kinks: )
